Donate Your Car

We accept all types of running and non-functioning New York car donations. Trucks, motorcycles, boats, snowmobiles, planes, heavy machinery, trailers and RVs are accepted on a case-by-case basis. If you have questions about a vehicle you’d like to donate, call Cars for Charity at (888) 755-5435.

Most car donations require a clear title. If you can’t find your title, you’ll have to apply for a duplicate title through the NYS DMV. When you donate your car to Madison Square Boys & Girls Club Foundation, you’ll sign your New York title over to our processing agent, Advanced Remarketing Services. When you donate a car in New York, please remove all registration stickers and return your plates to the DMV with a completed plate surrender application, which can be found here. This should be done once your car is picked up.

Yes! Within 30 days of the sale of your vehicle, you will receive an email with a tax receipt for your car donation. The amount that is tax-deductible is equal to the sale price of your vehicle. If your car sold for less than $500, you can claim the fair market value of the vehicle up to $499. If your vehicle sells for more than $500 and you want to claim the full amount when itemizing taxes, an IRS Form 1098-C, Contributions of Motor Vehicles, Boats, and Airplanes will be mailed to you.
